Biography

Dr Humera Shafi Makhdoom is a clinical and forensic toxicologist, laboratory leader, researcher and educator with more than sixteen years of experience. As Head of Clinical and Forensic Toxicology at Chughtai Healthcare, she works on advanced testing, laboratory quality, research and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Her experience includes establishing public- and private-sector forensic laboratories and training forensic scientists, healthcare professionals, law enforcement personnel, prosecutors and medico-legal practitioners. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and participated in international scientific conferences and training.

For six years, she has led the Drug Free Pakistan initiative, combining public awareness, scientific education and collaboration to address substance-use harms, particularly among young people. Her interests connect laboratory science with public health, justice and evidence-informed policy.
