Biography

Humaira Farooq is a social protection specialist and financial and institutional management adviser with more than twenty-three years of experience. Originally from Quetta and based in Islamabad, she works on programme design, grants, compliance and policy.

She currently serves as Team Lead and Focal Person for the Benazir Hunarmand Programme as an ADB consultant. Her experience includes donor-funded programmes involving UN Women, UNFPA, the World Bank, USAID, UNHCR, GIZ, KfW and the European Union, covering women’s economic empowerment, social cohesion, youth development and vocational training.

Humaira previously served as Managing Director of the National Institute of Cultural Studies and Head of Operations at Hashoo Foundation. She has authored policy briefs on pluralism, tolerance and democracy, and spoken at international forums in Berlin, Amsterdam and Melbourne.
