Biography

Syeda Uzma Shah is a talent acquisition leader, disability inclusion advocate and success coach based in Karachi. She serves as Senior Talent Acquisition Manager at TallyMarks Consulting (TMC). Her work at Engro and TMC has focused on connecting people with opportunities and advancing inclusive employment.

At Engro, she helped deliver Uraan, supporting women in STEM, and KHUDI, creating employment pathways for persons with disabilities. She founded Enable Pakistan in 2010 to advance disability inclusion and equal opportunity and serves as a Non-Official Member of the Board of Directors of the Sindh Persons with Disabilities Authority (SPDPA).

Uzma has contributed to discussions on inclusive recruitment, leadership and human rights through SiberX in Canada, UNDP Pakistan’s Business and Human Rights panel, LUMS–Jazz EMPOWER and Dawlance’s Real Talk. Her journey was featured in I Was Written Off, launched at the UK Parliament on International Women’s Day 2023.

As a woman who has used a wheelchair for more than two decades, she brings lived experience to her advocacy and supports women and persons with disabilities in recognising their strengths, accessing opportunities and pursuing leadership.
